ma vie en rose

On Saturday we woke up early and headed to Café Verlet for coffee. Our darling friend A lived in Paris last year, and sent us the most amazing list of places to go, one of which was this coffee shop! She said they alone made her love coffee ---- so we had to try it. It did not disappoint!

After two cappuccinos, we were ready for a visit to Musée de l'Orangerie, where we saw a great exhibit about Medieval French art. Then... I got a haircut! (Yes, spoiled is probably the most accurate descriptor.) We went to Le Laurier for lunch, also on A's recommendation. Rabbit stew? Scallop & chorizo skewers? Wine with lunch? Ohmygosh.

Yet despite my magical morning, the afternoon was even better. P took me on a little adventure to find a special apartment where his aunt and uncle used to live, and on those little empty streets began to tell me how much fun he was having on our adventure... how he hopes we have more adventures... and he got down on one knee and proposed! After I said of course, I proposed right back. (He said yes!) A little later we remembered that we should have said Oui! so we said that, too.

P had already set up an appointment with two amazing photographers, I guess he was pretty certain I was going to say yes! So we got to spend the afternoon taking photos throughout the city. They took us to little cafes and to the riverbank, letting little French streets create the perfect background for capturing how in love we feel!

After a hot chocolate break, we headed out for a walk and then to dinner at Pomze.

A had recommended this for a special night out, so what could be better? It was the perfect place to celebrate! Every dish they serve is made with apples, and we discovered that it all goes well with champagne.

We are happy.

  1. Yay yay yay! Still so excited for you two, and please tell P he did good - Paris, proposal AND photographers? (and although that alliteration was unintentional, somehow it makes the whole thing just that much better, don't you think?) Can't wait to follow along as you plan what is bound to be a gorgeous wedding.
