the weekend of visiting friends -- part two

P and I had even more friends come visit on Saturday morning. E & R drove up from DC, and J was in town for a wedding (because he can officiate weddings! Which is incredible!) so it was just all these people we love, together.

My roommates and I started the day off by going to the farmer's market, where the boys met up with us.

Pumpkin Apple Cider -- my friends, Autumn is King.

Followed by a visit to the Cheese Truck, which has the best grilled cheese.

I know.

A bought this watermelon for four dollars.

We love the Farmer's Market.

There are handsome fellas there...

Then we went back to our apartment where J came over for coffee.

After about a half hour, E & R showed up, after camping in Cheesequake, NJ. For Real.

And we had the best morning ever.

In the afternoon P and I took everybody to our favorite spot -- the top of East Rock, where you can see the whole city below.

Then we went to Koffee? our favorite coffee shop which just happens to be next to Fashionista...the thrift store we LOVE, so we went there, too. M got great cufflinks & E picked up a vintage apron. Success!

Koffee?'s Halloween decorations are up:

Koffee? makes Pumpkin cake that is singlehandedly responsible for my sweet tooth, so I bought some to share:

Just kidding. We did eat it fast though. Yum.

For dinner we piked up Modern Apizza, a New Haven tradition, and took it back to my apartment. We watched Roman Holiday, drank hot chocolate and I settled in comfortably to the best day ever.

I am so grateful for these traveling friends, swooping in to New Haven to share their joy & see our life. Also, so grateful to P for hosting everyone since his roommates were away (and the Settlers of Catan game is at his house anyway...).

Ahh.

How to do homework after a weekend like this?

*One person was missing though -- my dearest S, whose plans got lost in the hustle and bustle of my schoolwork & the evolving invitations to the visitors pictured...we'll make it up to you! Including the closet clean-out I have been so looking forward to. Simple closets all around.
