my packing list: weekend road trip

Every January P and I get the itch to go away for a cool weekend. Last year we went to Provincetown, which was snowy and wonderful! The year before that we went to Rhode Island. (Those years we were living in Connecticut.) The year before that we went to Annapolis. It's so nice to be near the ocean in cold weather -- it's quiet and weird and peaceful.

This year we are heading out for a short trip to Virginia Beach.
I thought I'd put together my packing list -- from the ideal simple closet pieces.

(Though I did add a pair of moccasins. I got this pair for Christmas and I love them! They are the perfect road trip shoe, according to A Cup of Jo's travel advice, too. Fancy that!)

I think moccasins are haunting me! I am trying to find a simple, cute slip-on shoe for during the winter. Like an airport/hotel/car shoe. I want to love moccasins, but I am afraid they'll look dorky with socks.
